Montana Elk 250-46

Elk Permit 250-46 — Brow-tined Bull Elk in Hunting District 250, rifle only, Oct 24 – Dec 20, 2026. 97% public land, mostly National Forest.

New for 2026

The 2026 draw is the first on record for 250-46: Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks did not offer this hunt code in earlier years, so the year-by-year table has one row and there is no point-creep trend to project yet. The odds shown are that one draw's actual results, not an estimate.

All of Hunting District 250 — 38 —

Across every license type in Hunting District 250, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks counted 38 elk taken in 2025 (hunter counts not published). Montana's figures blend mandatory reporting with a phone and mail survey. FWP does not publish district-level hunter counts for elk or antelope, so success rates are missing for those. About These Numbers

Odds are from the 2026 draw, the latest on file, computed from Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks' published results (expected weighted draw over published bonus-point pools). They are what happened in that draw, not a forecast. Under five tags a percentage carries a *, because one applicant either way swings it. A dash means the agency did not publish the number, and a date marked expected is last cycle's schedule rolled forward.
