Product Overview
Winchester's Power Max Bonded 160-grain sits between the 150-grain and 170-grain .350 Legend hunting loads in bullet weight. It uses Winchester's Power Max Bonded bullet, a protected hollow point with a bonded core, and leaves the muzzle at 2,225 fps with 1,759 ft-lbs of energy. The middle weight keeps its recoil below the heavier bullets.
Compared with Winchester's Deer Season XP 150-grain, the Power Max Bonded is 100 fps slower at the muzzle, and its heavier bullet makes it kick about 9 percent harder in the same rifle. Compared with Hornady's Custom 165-grain FTX, it is close to a match at the muzzle: 25 fps faster with 14 ft-lbs less energy. With 5 fewer grains of bullet, the Power Max Bonded also kicks about 5 percent less than the FTX in the same rifle.
Buy the Power Max Bonded 160-grain if you want a bonded hollow point with less kick than a 165- or 170-grain load. Pick the Deer Season XP 150-grain if light recoil matters most; Winchester says it engineered it for deer hunters. Pick the Custom 165-grain FTX if you want a polymer-tipped bullet in a load Hornady markets for medium game. Pick the American Whitetail 170-grain if you want a heavier soft point in a load Hornady markets for deer.
