Brass Case • CX
Solved from this product's advertised 3000 fps, 160gr bullet and G1 BC 0.596, with the sight 1.5" over the bore at standard conditions. Compare every zero for 7mm PRC.
How to read it: filled circles are the near and far zero, where the bullet's path crosses the line of sight;the triangle is the peak (max ordinate). The shaded band is the 8" vital zone, ±4" either side of the line of sight. The dashed line marks the edge of the hold-dead-on window. The chart is zoomed to where the zero matters; the tables below run to 500 yards.

Product Overview
Hornady Outfitter 160-grain CX is an all-copper 7mm PRC load made for large and medium game. Hornady builds the CX from a copper alloy with a polymer tip and no lead in it. It leaves the muzzle at 3,000 fps with 3,197 ft-lbs and has a G1 BC of .596.
Zeroed at 200 yards, it drops 6.2 inches at 300 and 17.8 inches at 400 yards, arriving with 2,035 ft-lbs. It kicks less than any 7mm PRC load with a heavier bullet.
If you're cross-shopping, Fiocchi's Hyperformance 150-grain TTSX is the other load in the caliber with no lead in its bullet. It starts 110 fps faster, and on a G1 BC of .424 it carries 1,700 ft-lbs at 400 yards. Weatherby's Select Plus 150-grain Swift Scirocco has a bonded lead core and a G1 BC of .515.
- No lead anywhere in the bullet, so it is usable where lead-free ammunition is required
- Keeps 2,287 ft-lbs at 300 yards
- A higher G1 BC than both 150-grain loads in the caliber
- 300 ft-lbs less at the muzzle than Hornady's Precision Hunter 175-grain ELD-X, which starts at the same 3,000 fps
- 0.6 inch more drop at 400 yards from a 200-yard zero than Hornady's Precision Hunter 175-grain ELD-X
- Slower at the muzzle than both 150-grain loads in the caliber
