Solved from this product's advertised 3000 fps, 175gr bullet and G1 BC 0.689, with the sight 1.5" over the bore at standard conditions. Compare every zero for 7mm PRC.
How to read it: filled circles are the near and far zero, where the bullet's path crosses the line of sight;the triangle is the peak (max ordinate). The shaded band is the 8" vital zone, ±4" either side of the line of sight. The dashed line marks the edge of the hold-dead-on window. The chart is zoomed to where the zero matters; the tables below run to 500 yards.

Product Overview
Federal Premium 175-grain ELD-X is a polymer-tipped 7mm PRC load made for big game at long range. Federal loads Hornady's ELD-X, a hunting bullet with a lead core and a polymer tip. It starts at 3,000 fps with 3,497 ft-lbs and has a G1 BC of .689.
From a 100-yard zero it drops 10.2 inches at 300 and 22.8 inches at 400. Zeroed at 200 yards the 400-yard drop is 17.2 inches, and the bullet arrives with 2,372 ft-lbs. Recoil is the same as Nosler's Trophy Grade 175-grain AccuBond LR.
If you're cross-shopping, Hornady's own Precision Hunter 175-grain ELD-X uses the same bullet at the same muzzle speed, so nothing on the trajectory table separates them. Federal's Terminal Ascent 170-grain is the bonded bullet in the line, 50 fps slower on a G1 BC of .646.
- Still moving at 2,470 fps at 400 yards
- No 7mm PRC hunting load has a higher G1 BC, against .648 for Nosler's Trophy Grade 175-grain AccuBond LR
- Carries 2,890 ft-lbs at 200 yards
- A lead core, so it is out where lead-free ammunition is required. Hornady's Outfitter 160-grain CX is the copper bullet in the caliber
- About 34 percent more estimated recoil than Weatherby's Select Plus 150-grain Swift Scirocco
- Weatherby's Select Plus 150-grain Swift Scirocco starts 50 fps faster at the muzzle
