Weatherby Select Plus 180-grain Ballistic Tip is a polymer-tipped .300 Weatherby Magnum load made for hunting. Its bullet is Nosler's Ballistic Tip, a lead-core boat tail under a polymer nose, with the core left unbonded to the jacket. It leaves the muzzle at 3,250 fps with 4,223 ft-lbs and a G1 BC of .507.
From a 200-yard zero it drops 5.4 inches at 300 and 15.6 inches at 400, arriving with 2,511 ft-lbs. A 100-yard zero puts it 20.1 inches low at 400.
If you're cross-shopping, Nosler's Trophy Grade 180-grain AccuBond shares that G1 BC of .507 over a bonded core and starts 75 fps slower, and from a 200-yard zero it drops 16.4 inches at 400. Weatherby's Select 180-grain InterLock is 10 fps behind at the muzzle on a G1 BC of .425.
