The shaded band is the 8" vital zone, ±4" either side of the line of sight. The dashed line marks the edge of the hold-dead-on window. The chart is zoomed to where the zero matters; the tables below run to 500 yards.

Product Overview

Nosler's Trophy Grade 180-grain AccuBond puts Nosler's own bonded hunting bullet in a .300 Weatherby load. The AccuBond is a polymer-tipped bullet with its lead core bonded to the jacket, rated at a G1 BC of .507. It leaves the muzzle at 3,175 fps and still carries 2,073 ft-lbs of energy at 500 yards.

Compared with Weatherby's Select 180-grain InterLock, a plain soft point, the AccuBond starts 65 fps slower but is the faster of the two by 200 yards. At 500 yards, a steady 10 mph wind blowing across the range pushes the AccuBond about 15 inches sideways and the InterLock about 18. The InterLock kicks about 2 percent more in the same rifle. Compared with Weatherby's Select Plus AccuBond, which loads the same bullet, the Nosler starts 75 fps slower with 195 ft-lbs less energy at the muzzle, and it kicks about 3 percent less in the same rifle.

Buy the Nosler if you want a bonded, polymer-tipped bullet and expect shots out to 500 yards in wind. Pick Weatherby's Select Plus 180-grain AccuBond if you want the same bullet with a faster start. Pick Weatherby's Select 180-grain InterLock if most of your shots fall inside 300 yards, where both drop about 9 inches from a 100-yard zero. Pick Remington's Core-Lokt 180-grain PSP if you want a plain soft point with a little less recoil.

Strengths
  • At 400 yards, a 10 mph crosswind pushes it about 9 inches, against about 11 for Weatherby's Select Plus 180-grain SP
  • Carries 2,073 ft-lbs at 500 yards, against 1,890 for Weatherby's Select 180-grain InterLock
  • Rated at a G1 BC of .507, against .425 for Weatherby's Select 180-grain InterLock
Limitations
  • Carries 167 ft-lbs less at the muzzle than Weatherby's Select 180-grain InterLock
  • Kicks about 2 percent more than Remington's Core-Lokt 180-grain PSP in the same rifle
  • Leaves the muzzle 75 fps slower than Weatherby's Select Plus 180-grain Ballistic Tip
