DoubleTap builds its 130-grain .260 Remington load on Swift's Scirocco II, a polymer-tipped hunting bullet with a boat tail and a lead core bonded to its copper jacket. It leaves the muzzle at 2,900 fps with 2,427 ft-lbs of energy. Buyers choose it for that pairing: a bonded, polymer-tipped bullet with a quick start.
Compared with Nosler's Trophy Grade 130-grain AccuBond, another bonded, polymer-tipped bullet of the same weight, the Scirocco II load starts 200 fps faster. In exchange it kicks about 8 percent harder in the same rifle. Compared with DoubleTap's own 127-grain Barnes LRX, a lead-free copper bullet, the Scirocco II starts 100 fps slower, and the two kick almost exactly alike in the same rifle.
