Magtech 180-grain FMJ Flat Nose is a flat-nose full metal jacket .40 S&W load made for target shooting. Magtech states a four-inch test barrel for its figures. It leaves the muzzle at 990 fps with 392 ft-lbs of energy.
Zeroed at 25 yards, it lands 1.8 inches low at 50 yards, where it still holds 943 fps. Estimated recoil in a compact pistol is 7.7 ft-lbs, a tenth under Speer Lawman 180-grain TMJ.
