Fiocchi Training Dynamics 170-grain FMJTC is a truncated-cone full metal jacket .40 S&W load made for high-volume training. Fiocchi now sells the same load under its Range Dynamics label. It leaves the muzzle at 1,020 fps with 392 ft-lbs of energy.
With the sights set at 25 yards, it sits 1.7 inches low at 50 yards, where it still holds 963 fps. Estimated recoil in a compact pistol is 7.2 ft-lbs.
