Sellier & Bellot 124-grain JHP is a conventional jacketed hollow point .357 SIG load made for self-defense. Its bullet is a plain jacketed hollow point with no bonding. At 1,476 fps and 597 ft-lbs it is the fastest and hardest-hitting load in the caliber.
With a 25-yard zero it sits 0.7 inch low at 50, the flattest of the .357 SIG loads compared, and it is still moving 1,278 fps there. Estimated recoil in a compact pistol is 7.2 ft-lbs.
If you're cross-shopping, Federal Premium HST 125-grain is 116 fps slower at 1,360 fps. Hornady Critical Duty 135-grain goes the other way, 251 fps slower on a bullet 11 grains heavier. Fiocchi Range Dynamics 124-grain is the full metal jacket at this bullet weight, at 1,350 fps.
