Federal Premium HST 125-grain is a jacketed hollow point .357 SIG load made for self-defense. The bullet is Federal's HST, with a jacket that is not bonded to its lead core. At 1,360 fps and 513 ft-lbs it is the fastest of the 125-grain hollow points compared.
From a 25-yard zero it is 0.8 inch low at 50. Estimated recoil in a compact pistol is 6.4 ft-lbs, within a tenth of a ft-lb of Speer Gold Dot 125-grain.
If you're cross-shopping, Speer Gold Dot 125-grain is the bonded bullet at this weight, with its jacket plated onto the core. Sellier & Bellot's 124-grain JHP is the fastest hollow point in the caliber at 1,476 fps and 597 ft-lbs.
