Product Overview
Winchester pitches its Super-X line at hunters and shooters generally, and this 40-grain jacketed hollow point is the plain rimfire version: a lead core in a copper jacket with a hollow nose. It leaves the muzzle at 1,910 fps on a G1 BC of .113, as fast as any 40-grain load in the caliber. From a 100-yard zero it is about 6 inches low at 150 yards.
Remington's Magnum rimfire 40-grain JHP starts at the same speed and holds more of it on a G1 BC of .117, 1,355 fps at 100 yards against 1,338. CCI's Varmint Maxi-Mag 40-grain JHP starts 35 fps slower and is 20 fps behind at 100 yards.
Of the plain hollow points in .22 Magnum this one starts at the top and finishes mid-pack. Armscor's .22 WMR 40-grain JHP is the slow end of them. Winchester's Super-X .22 WMR 40-grain FMJ is the full metal jacket in the same line, at the same start.
