Product Overview
Armscor's 40-grain jacketed hollow point is a plain .22 WMR hollow point: a lead core in a copper jacket with an open nose, and nothing more. It leaves the muzzle at 1,875 fps on a G1 BC of .100, the lowest of the caliber's 40-grain bullets, and that is what decides where it finishes downrange. With a 100-yard zero it is about 7 inches low at 150 yards, more than any other 40-grain load in .22 WMR.
Remington's Magnum rimfire 40-grain JHP starts 35 fps faster and stays ahead, 1,355 fps at 100 yards against 1,257. CCI's Varmint Maxi-Mag 40-grain JHP leaves at the same speed but on a higher G1 BC of .114, which puts it 61 fps ahead at 100 yards.
What it gives up is downrange speed rather than the start. Fiocchi's Defense Dynamics 40-grain JHP matches Remington's start. Winchester's Varmint LF 25-grain is the lighter, lead-free option in the caliber, at 2,100 fps.
