Pick the action for the job. Semi-autos like the Ruger 10/22 are for plinking and small game with fast follow-up shots, bolt actions like the CZ 457 are more accurate and suit rimfire precision matches and squirrel hunting, and lever actions offer classic handling. Also check which aftermarket magazines and stocks fit, and if the barrel is threaded for a suppressor.
