About This Firearm
The Tactical Solutions X-RING TSS GEN2 is an integrally suppressed semi-automatic .22 LR built for pest and small game work. It has an MSRP of $1,691. Its 16.75 inch barrel is an aluminum tube around a chromoly steel bore with a titanium Clean-Lok baffle stack inside it, which is how the whole rifle comes in at 4.9 lbs.
The top of the receiver takes TacSol's interchangeable Picatinny rails and a 10 MOA rail comes fitted, with nine options to pick from if a scope wants a different taper. It feeds standard 10-round rotary magazines, an extended magazine release is in the box, and an optic is yours to buy.
If you're cross-shopping, the Tactical Solutions X-RING Takedown TSS has an MSRP of $1,671, weighs 3.9 lbs, comes apart behind the receiver and carries adjustable fiber optic sights on the barrel. The Ruger 10/22 Target is no longer made and is a used buy, with a 20 inch barrel and 7.5 lbs on the scale, so the suppressed rifle saves 2.6 lbs and arrives quiet. Spare magazines are the same rotary pattern across all three.
Best For
Strengths & Limitations
- The receiver is 6061-T6 aluminum and the rifle is designed and built in Boise, Idaho, so service and parts are domestic.
- A noise-dampening bolt buffer and a dual guide rod recoil system handle the mechanical racket a semi-automatic rimfire makes behind the shot.
- The baffle stack is user-serviceable, so carbon from a few thousand rounds is a cleaning job at the bench and not a warranty conversation.
- The suppressor is part of the barrel, so the baffles stay with this rifle and cannot be shared with a second one.
- An optic has to be bought and mounted before the first range trip.
- The 10 MOA rail that comes fitted has a built-in taper, so a shooter who wants a flat rail buys one of the other eight options.

Frequently Asked Questions
What magazines does it use?
Standard rotary rimfire magazines, which TacSol calls an industry standard, so spares come off any gun counter.
How does the baffle stack come out?
The Clean-Lok baffles interlock and lift out through a port at the rear of the barrel, so the barrel stays on the receiver while the stack is cleaned.
What stock options does TacSol list?
The Magpul X-22 Hunter in black, stealth grey, flat dark earth or olive drab, with a Hogue OverMolded stock as the other choice at the same price.
