The Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 Sport is a semi-automatic .22 LR built as an AR-15 in its own right, not a conversion kit in a centerfire rifle, for training and plinking. It has an MSRP of $519. Its controls, stock and magazine release copy a centerfire AR closely enough that reloads and safety work transfer straight across.
Magpul MBUS folding sights are fitted front and rear, one 25-round magazine is in the box with a 2-inch M-LOK rail panel, and the handguard is M-LOK, so a light or a sling mount bolts on with no adapter in between. The stock adjusts through six positions. Both receivers are polymer and the rifle is its own design, so centerfire AR internals do not swap in. Nothing else has to be bought to shoot it.
