Product Overview
Hornady Precision Hunter 150-grain is a polymer-tipped 7mm-08 hunting load made for large game. The ELD-X is Hornady's polymer-tipped hunting bullet over a lead core, and at 150 grains it is the heaviest bullet in the caliber. It leaves the muzzle at 2,770 fps with 2,555 ft-lbs and has a G1 BC of .574.
Zeroed at 200 yards, it drops 7.6 inches at 300 and 21.6 inches at 400, where it still carries 1,570 ft-lbs. From a 100-yard zero the 400-yard figure is 28.8 inches.
If you're cross-shopping, Winchester's Ballistic Silvertip 140-grain leaves at the same 2,770 fps and from a 200-yard zero drops 23.3 inches at 400. Barnes' VOR-TX 120-grain TTSX starts 235 fps faster and is the only solid copper bullet of the four 7mm-08 loads compared.
