Barnes VOR-TX 120-grain TTSX is a solid copper 7mm-08 hunting load made for big and medium game. Barnes builds the TTSX from solid copper with a polymer tip and no lead core inside it. It leaves the muzzle at 3,005 fps with 2,407 ft-lbs and has a G1 BC of .373.
From a 100-yard zero it drops 11.8 inches at 300 and 27.1 inches at 400, with 1,143 ft-lbs left at 400. That is the least drop of the four 7mm-08 loads compared at either distance.
If you're cross-shopping, Federal's Fusion 120-grain is a bonded lead-core bullet at the same weight and muzzle speed, and from a 100-yard zero it drops 28.4 inches at 400. Hornady's Precision Hunter 150-grain is the heavy end of the caliber and reaches 400 yards with 1,570 ft-lbs.
