Product Overview
Weatherby Select 165-grain InterLock is a lead-core .300 Weatherby Magnum load made for general hunting. Hornady's InterLock gives it a cup-and-core soft point, lead showing at the nose and a ring rolled into the jacket to hold the two together. At 165 grains it is the lightest bullet in the caliber, and it leaves the muzzle at 3,390 fps with 4,210 ft-lbs and a G1 BC of .387.
With a 200-yard zero it drops 5.3 inches at 300 and 15.5 inches at 400, arriving with 2,130 ft-lbs. From a 100-yard zero the drop at 400 is 19.7 inches.
If you're cross-shopping, Nosler's Trophy Grade 180-grain AccuBond is 15 grains heavier and 215 fps slower at the muzzle, on a G1 BC of .507. From the same 200-yard zero it drops 16.4 inches at 400 and arrives with 2,386 ft-lbs.
- The fastest start of any .300 Weatherby Magnum load
- The least estimated recoil in the caliber
- Within an inch of Nosler's Trophy Grade AccuBond at 400 yards from a 200-yard zero
- A lower G1 BC than Nosler's Trophy Grade AccuBond, so it arrives at 400 yards with 256 ft-lbs less
- A plain lead-core soft point, so it can't be used where lead-free ammunition is required
