Brass Case • LRX
Solved from this product's advertised 2860 fps, 208gr bullet and G1 BC 0.633, with the sight 1.5" over the bore at standard conditions. Compare every zero for .300 PRC.
How to read it: filled circles are the near and far zero, where the bullet's path crosses the line of sight;the triangle is the peak (max ordinate). The shaded band is the 8" vital zone, ±4" either side of the line of sight. The dashed line marks the edge of the hold-dead-on window. The chart is zoomed to where the zero matters; the tables below run to 500 yards.
.300 PRC 208gr with a 100-yard zero
Zeroed at 100 yards with a 1.5" sight height, this load touches the line of sight at 100 yards and never rises more than 0.1" above it (effectively a tangent zero), and is -11.7" at 300 and -26.1" at 400 yards.

Product Overview
Barnes VOR-TX Long Range 208-grain LRX is a copper .300 PRC hunting load made for big and medium game. The LRX is a polymer-tipped copper bullet with a boat tail and no lead core. It leaves the muzzle at 2,860 fps with 3,780 ft-lbs and has a G1 BC of .633.
Zeroed at 200 yards, it drops 19.6 inches at 400 yards, where it still carries 2,450 ft-lbs. Estimated recoil is about 24 percent under Berger's Elite Hunter 245-grain.
If you're cross-shopping, Hornady's Precision Hunter 212-grain ELD-X starts at the same 2,860 fps with a lead core and lands within two tenths of an inch of this load at 400 yards from that zero. Hornady's Outfitter 190-grain CX is the lighter copper bullet, 140 fps faster at the muzzle and 18.0 inches down at 400 off the same zero.
- No lead core, so it stays usable where lead-free ammunition is required
- Carries 2,741 ft-lbs at 300 yards
- A higher G1 BC than Hornady's Outfitter 190-grain CX at .575 and Weatherby's Select Plus 180-grain Swift Scirocco at .520
- Hornady's Precision Hunter 212-grain ELD-X starts at the same 2,860 fps and carries 99 ft-lbs more at 400 yards
- About 14 percent more estimated recoil than Hornady's Outfitter 190-grain CX
