Berger Elite Hunter 245-grain is an open-tip .300 PRC hunting load made for all North American game. The Elite Hunter is a boat-tail hunting bullet with an open tip in place of a polymer one. It leaves the muzzle at 2,720 fps with 4,025 ft-lbs and has a G1 BC of .807.
Zeroed at 200 yards, it drops 20.8 inches at 400 yards, arriving with 2,855 ft-lbs. From a 100-yard zero it drops 28.1 inches at 400.
If you're cross-shopping, Hornady's Precision Hunter 212-grain ELD-X starts 140 fps faster on a G1 BC of .663 and drops 19.4 inches at 400 from a 200-yard zero. Hornady's Outfitter 190-grain CX has no lead core and drops 18.0 inches at 400 off that zero.
