Product Overview
Hornady Outfitter 190-grain CX is a copper .300 PRC hunting load made for large and medium game. The CX is a polymer-tipped copper bullet with no lead core at all. It leaves the muzzle at 3,000 fps with 3,797 ft-lbs and has a G1 BC of .575.
Zeroed at 200 yards, it drops 18.0 inches at 400 yards, arriving with 2,375 ft-lbs. From a 100-yard zero it drops 23.7 inches at 400. Estimated recoil is the lowest of the .300 PRC loads compared apart from Weatherby's Select Plus 180-grain Swift Scirocco.
If you're cross-shopping, Barnes' VOR-TX Long Range 208-grain LRX is the other copper load in the caliber, 140 fps slower at the muzzle and 19.6 inches down at 400 from a 200-yard zero. Hornady's Precision Hunter 212-grain ELD-X has a lead core and a higher G1 BC of .663. Off that zero it drops 19.4 inches at 400 yards.
