Product Overview
Wolf WPA 55-grain FMJ is steel-cased ball ammunition for plinking and practice at ranges that accept steel. It loads a 55-grain full metal jacket bullet, a plain jacketed range bullet, and leaves the muzzle at 3,241 fps. Steel cases cannot be reloaded, and some indoor ranges ban them, so check before you take it to an indoor lane.
Compared with Federal American Eagle 55-grain, the Wolf is level at the muzzle, 3,241 fps against 3,240, and kicks the same in the same rifle. Federal markets American Eagle for target practice, and its brass case goes where steel is banned. Compared with STV Technology's Scorpio 55-grain, another brass-cased full metal jacket load, the Wolf starts 7 fps slower and again kicks the same in the same rifle.
Buy the Wolf for plinking and drills where steel cases are welcome and you have no use for the empties. Pick American Eagle 55-grain or Winchester USA 55-grain if your range bans steel or you reload; both leave the muzzle at 3,240 fps, so you give up nothing in speed or recoil.
