Product Overview

Remington UMC 45-grain JHP is a jacketed hollow point .22-250 Remington load made for small game. A plain hollow point with nothing in its nose, it carries the lightest lead-core bullet in the caliber at 45 grains. It leaves the muzzle at 4,000 fps with 1,598 ft-lbs and a G1 BC of .173.

From a 200-yard zero it drops 5.4 inches at 300 and 17.7 inches at 400. A 100-yard zero puts it 21.0 inches low at 400.

If you're cross-shopping, Hornady's Superformance Varmint 50-grain V-Max starts at the same 4,000 fps on a G1 BC of .242, and from a 200-yard zero it drops 13.5 inches at 400. Hornady's Superformance Varmint 35-grain NTX is the fastest load in the caliber, at 4,450 fps.

  • Drops 4.2 inches more at 400 yards than Hornady's Superformance Varmint 50-grain V-Max from a 200-yard zero
  • A plain hollow point, where three of the five loads compared carry a polymer tip
