About This Firearm
The Ruger RXM is a G19-pattern 9mm built with Magpul. Ruger says most major components are designed for Glock Gen 3 compatibility with off-the-shelf parts, holsters and accessories. At $539 with a 4.0" barrel and 15-round Magpul PMAGs, it is for the buyer who wants what the Glock aftermarket offers on a different grip and a Ruger-built gun.
The serialized part is a removable stainless steel fire control insert, so the Magpul Enhanced Handgun Grip around it can be swapped like a stock. Against the Glock G19 Gen5 MOS, it is 0.61 oz lighter and ships with a tritium front sight, though the Glock comes with three magazines. The Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro OSP holds the same 15 rounds on a shorter 3.7" barrel and weighs 2.2 oz less, for $131 more. The FN 309 MRD is priced within $10 of the RXM, with a hammer-fired single-action trigger and one more round in the flush magazine.
Buy the RXM if you want a G19-class gun that uses Gen 3 holsters and parts, with night-sight and red-dot readiness included in the list price. Skip it if you want a lighter carry gun, in which case the Hellcat Pro OSP is worth the extra money.
