The PSA Dagger Compact is Palmetto State Armory's copy of the Glock 19 layout, sold at a $300 MSRP. The buying question is simple: do you need the Glock name on a G19-size pistol, or will a clone that takes the same magazines do the job? This SKU carries 15 rounds, runs a 3.9-inch barrel and weighs 22.4 oz empty.
PSA builds the slide from stainless steel under black Cerakote and adds Carry Cuts, rounded edges at the front and rear of the slide meant to keep it from snagging on the draw. It ships with a Magpul PMAG 15 GL9, which Magpul makes for Glock 19-pattern pistols, so it feeds from standard G19 magazines. The Glock G19 Gen5 has a 4.02-inch barrel, three magazines in the box and a factory trigger pull of 5.8 lbs. The Ruger Security-9 costs $389, holds the same count and has a manual safety. The PSA Dagger Full Size S uses the same slide on a longer grip that takes 17-round magazines.
Buy the Dagger Compact if you want a G19-size pistol for the nightstand, the range or a first carry gun and you want Glock magazine support without buying a Glock. Skip it if you want the G19's long police service record and three magazines in the box; buy the Glock G19 Gen5 instead.
