About This Firearm
The HK VP9A1 K is the compact of HK's 2025 VP9A1 line, sized to compete with the Glock G19 as a gun you can carry daily and still run in a class. It has a 4.09-inch barrel, a 5.12-inch height, a 15-round flush magazine and an optic cut. At $1,049 it costs the same as the full-size F.
HK says the K is the first true compact the VP series has had; earlier VP9 models were full-size or subcompact. It shares the A1 grip kit, with five backstraps and six side panels, so the short grip can still be fitted to large hands. The Glock G19 Gen5 MOS has the same capacity, is 0.04 inch shorter overall, and weighs 1.24 oz more. The Walther PDP Compact costs $350 less, matches that capacity, and stands 0.28 inch taller. Against its own sibling, the HK VP9A1 F adds a longer barrel and 0.35 inch of height.
Buy the VP9A1 K if you want a G19-size carry gun with a better trigger and an adjustable grip. Skip it if you would rather spend the difference on an optic and ammunition; the Walther PDP Compact does the same job for far less.

- The top of HK's listed trigger-pull range is lighter than the G19 Gen5 MOS and PDP Compact figures, and HK coats the trigger bar in nickel-teflon for a smoother pull.
- Nine HK adapter plates cover most dot footprints, including RMR, ACRO and the Holosun EPS Carry.
- It is priced like the full-size F even though you get less gun, and the gap to a PDP Compact buys a red dot.
- HK lists only the K's own flush and state-compliant magazines for it, so there is no longer factory magazine to carry as a reload.

Is the VP9A1 K a replacement for the VP9SK?
No. HK sizes it between full-size and subcompact pistols, a new size for the VP line rather than a successor to the subcompact.
Will full-size VP9 magazines work in the K?
HK does not list them. Its parts list gives the K its own VP9K magazines in flush and state-compliant sizes, and lists the longer VP9 magazines for the F and X only.
Which red dots fit the K?
Any dot HK makes a plate for. For carry, the Holosun EPS Carry plate takes an enclosed-emitter dot, and Plate 07 takes the Shield footprint.
Does the K include the optic plate?
No. HK sells the adapter plates separately.
How does the K compare with the VP9A1 F?
Same trigger, grip kit and price. The F has a longer barrel and slide and a taller grip that takes HK's longer magazines.
