The G45 Gen6 is Glock's crossover 9mm in the Gen6 line, announced in December 2025: a full-size frame and flush 17-round magazine under the compact 4.02-inch slide and barrel. It ships optic ready and weighs 23.1 oz with an empty magazine. It suits the buyer who wants a full grip and a red dot for home defense or open carry, but a slide short enough to carry concealed on a larger frame.

Gen6 brings a palm swell, thumb rest, enlarged beavertail and RTF6 texture to the frame, a flat-faced trigger, and deeper tapered slide serrations. Optics screw directly into the slide through one of three included plates, in place of the MOS adapter plates. The Glock G45 Gen5 MOS weighs 1.42 oz more and mounts dots through adapter plates. The Glock G19X V shares the length and height, but Glock lists no optic system for it, and it has a coyote finish and two extended 17+2 magazines among its three. The Glock G19 Gen6 uses the same slide on a grip 0.43 inches shorter that holds 15, which makes it the easier of the two to hide.

Buy the G45 Gen6 if you want a full firing grip and full capacity with a red dot on a compact slide. Skip it if concealment matters more than grip length; the G19 Gen6 gives you the same Gen6 features in a shorter frame.
