The Walther PDP Full Size is a full-size striker-fired 9mm built for duty and range work. It has an MSRP of $699. It holds 18 rounds in a flush magazine and the Performance Duty Trigger is set at 5.6 lbs out of the box.

Two magazines and interchangeable backstraps come with it, so the grip circumference is adjustable without a new frame, and the dust cover is full length for a service light. The slide carries SuperTerrain serrations that project above the surface for a wet or gloved hand, the barrel has polygonal rifling, and a loaded chamber indicator can be read by feel. The optic cut takes a plate, which is a separate purchase along with the dot, and there is no manual safety on any PDP.

If you are cross-shopping, the Walther PDP Compact has the same MSRP with a 4.0-inch barrel, 15 rounds and 0.5 inches less length at 24.4 oz, which is the carry version of the same pistol. The Smith & Wesson M&P 9 M2.0 Full Size OR matches it on price but holds 17 rounds, weighs 29.0 oz with a shorter 4.25-inch barrel and sizes its grip with palmswell inserts, so the Walther holds one more round on a longer barrel at the same MSRP.
