About This Firearm
The Canik SFx Rival is a full-size striker-fired 9mm built for competition. It has an MSRP of $680, and it arrives with an external mag-well, a click-adjustable rear sight and a fiber optic front.
Three optic interfaces come in the case, covering Shield RMSc, Trijicon RMR, DeltaPoint Pro and Vortex Venom footprints, so the dot goes on without a separate plate order. Two 18-round magazines, three backstraps and a loading tool are in the case as well. The slide is ported and aggressively serrated, and the trigger is a lightened aluminum flat shoe with a 90 degree diamond-cut face. At 29.5 oz in an 8.1-inch frame this is a range pistol and not a carry pistol.
If you're cross-shopping, the Canik METE SFT is the service-length build in the same family, 27.84 oz on a 4.46-inch barrel with an MSRP of $520, and it takes the same 18-round magazines. - Canik ties the optic plates to serial number ranges, so a very early gun may need plates ordered separately.
- An 8.1-inch slide rules out holsters cut for service-length pistols, so match gear has to be bought for the length.
- The grip is 5.7 inches tall and 1.41 inches across, which is sized for a race rig and not a belt.

Does it come with an optic fitted?
Canik offers it three ways. The Darkside finish can be had with a MECANiK MO1, the Canik Grey with an MO2, or either with no optic at all. The three optic interfaces come in the case regardless.
What finishes are offered?

What does the ported slide do?
The cuts take metal out of the top of the slide, which lightens the reciprocating mass. Canik pairs them with aggressive serrations front and rear for a grip on the slide.
