Winchester USA 125-grain FMJ lands on the same numbers most .357 SIG ball shares: 1,350 fps and 506 ft-lbs at the muzzle, for a power factor of 169 and a 3.8-point margin over the 165 USPSA major floor. Zeroed at 25 yards, it prints 0.8 inch low at 50 yards and 7.2 inches low at 100.
Federal American Eagle 125, Speer Lawman 125 and Remington UMC 125 match it at the muzzle in every figure, and all four produce the same recoil energy in the same pistol. Of those, Lawman differs only in its bullet. Fiocchi Range Dynamics 124 is the one load with different numbers: a bullet 1 grain lighter and 1.4 points less power factor, which still leaves it over the major floor. With the four 125-grain loads this close, you can mix them in one practice session without any change in speed or recoil.
Buy it as range ball or as major-power practice for USPSA. For carry, Federal HST 125 is the hollow point to pair it with: the HST leaves 10 fps faster with about 1 percent more recoil energy in the same pistol, so practice with the Winchester carries over to the HST. A shooter who wants a bullet with no exposed lead should look past this load to the Lawman.
