Product Overview
Fiocchi Range Dynamics loads a 124-grain FMJTC, a full metal jacket truncated-cone bullet, to 1,350 fps and 502 ft-lbs. Its power factor of 167 makes USPSA major by 2.4 points, the thinnest margin among the .357 SIG ball loads here. From a 25-yard zero it drops 0.9 inch at 50 yards and 7.2 inches at 100, and it is still moving at 1,202 fps at the 50-yard line.
The other four ball loads, Federal American Eagle 125, Speer Lawman 125, Winchester USA 125 and Remington UMC 125, all leave at the same 1,350 fps with a bullet 1 grain heavier. That grain is worth 1.4 points of power factor. In the same pistol the Fiocchi has about 1 percent less recoil energy than any of them, a difference nobody will feel. Downrange it tracks American Eagle and Lawman closely: at 50 yards it is 2 fps behind the American Eagle and 1 fps behind the Lawman, and the three stay within 4 fps of each other at 100 yards. For practical purposes these three shoot the same.
Buy it as range ball, or for USPSA major if your pistol chronographs close to the box figure. A shooter who wants more room over the 165 floor should pick one of the 125-grain loads, which make major by 3.8 points. If you carry the Sellier & Bellot 124 hollow point, this load matches its bullet weight but not its speed: the Sellier & Bellot leaves 126 fps faster with about 17 percent more recoil energy in the same pistol, so the Fiocchi is a lighter stand-in at best.

- Keeps 398 ft-lbs at 50 yards, within 3 of the Speer Lawman 125
- Drops 7.2 inches at 100 yards, the same as Federal American Eagle 125 and Speer Lawman 125, so a hold that works with one works with the others
- Only about 19 fps above the 1,331 fps a 124-grain bullet needs for major, where Federal American Eagle 125 has 30 fps of room
- 502 ft-lbs at the muzzle is 4 below Winchester USA 125, Remington UMC 125 and the other 125-grain loads
- Speer Lawman 125 uses a TMJ, a fully enclosed bullet with no exposed lead, for shooters who want that
