Brass Case • FMJ • MPN: L357S1
Solved from this product's advertised 1350 fps, 125gr bullet and G1 BC 0.113, with the sight 0.5" over the bore at standard conditions. Compare every zero for .357 SIG.
How to read it: filled circles are the near and far zero, where the bullet's path crosses the line of sight;the triangle is the peak (max ordinate). The shaded band is the 4" vital zone, ±2" either side of the line of sight. The dashed line marks the edge of the hold-dead-on window. The chart is zoomed to where the zero matters; the tables below run to 100 yards.

Product Overview
Remington's UMC 125-grain FMJ is .357 SIG range ball rated at 1,350 fps and 506 ft-lbs. That works out to a power factor of 169, which makes USPSA major by 3.8 points. From a 25-yard zero it prints 0.9 inch low at 50 yards and 7.9 inches low at 100.
At the muzzle it is indistinguishable from Federal American Eagle 125, Speer Lawman 125 and Winchester USA 125: the same 1,350 fps, the same 506 ft-lbs, the same power factor, and the same recoil energy in the same pistol. Of the four, only Lawman changes the bullet, to a fully enclosed TMJ with no exposed lead. Fiocchi Range Dynamics 124 is the outlier by a hair, 1 grain lighter with 4 ft-lbs less at the muzzle. None of these differences is large enough to feel from one magazine to the next.
Buy it as range ball or as major-power practice for USPSA, and treat it as interchangeable with American Eagle or Winchester USA. A shooter who wants no exposed lead should buy Lawman instead. For carry, Federal HST 125 is the hollow point to pair it with: the HST leaves 10 fps faster with 7 ft-lbs more at the muzzle and about 1 percent more recoil energy in the same pistol, close enough that UMC practice carries over.
- Power factor of 169 gives 1.4 points more cushion over major than Fiocchi Range Dynamics 124
- Same muzzle speed, energy and recoil as American Eagle 125 and Winchester USA 125, so it mixes with either in one session
- Prints 0.9 inch low at 50 yards from a 25-yard zero, close enough for a center hold
- Standard FMJ, where Speer Lawman 125 uses a fully enclosed bullet
- Only 30 fps stands between the box figure and minor, since a 125-grain bullet needs 1,320 fps to make major
- About 1 percent more recoil energy than Fiocchi Range Dynamics 124 in the same pistol
