Federal American Eagle 125-grain is a full metal jacket .357 SIG load made for target shooting. Its bullet is a conventional jacketed round nose over a lead core. It leaves the muzzle at 1,350 fps with 506 ft-lbs.
Zeroed at 25 yards it is 0.8 inch low at 50 and still moving 1,204 fps. Estimated recoil in a compact pistol is 6.3 ft-lbs, a tenth of a ft-lb above Fiocchi Range Dynamics 124-grain.
If you're cross-shopping, Winchester USA 125-grain FMJ is the fastest ball load in the caliber at 1,370 fps and 521 ft-lbs. Remington UMC 125-grain leaves at the same 1,350 fps but reaches 50 yards 55 fps slower, at 1,149 fps.
