Brass Case • FMJ • MPN: AE357S2
Solved from this product's advertised 1350 fps, 125gr bullet and G1 BC 0.165, with the sight 0.5" over the bore at standard conditions. Compare every zero for .357 SIG.
How to read it: filled circles are the near and far zero, where the bullet's path crosses the line of sight;the triangle is the peak (max ordinate). The shaded band is the 4" vital zone, ±2" either side of the line of sight. The dashed line marks the edge of the hold-dead-on window. The chart is zoomed to where the zero matters; the tables below run to 100 yards.

Product Overview
American Eagle is Federal's 125-grain full metal jacket practice load for .357 SIG, rated at 1,350 fps and 506 ft-lbs. Its power factor of 169 makes USPSA major by 3.8 points. Zeroed at 25 yards, it is 0.8 inch low at 50 yards and 7.2 inches low at 100, and it still carries 403 ft-lbs at the 50-yard line.
Winchester USA 125 and Remington UMC 125 match it at the muzzle in every figure: speed, energy, power factor, and the same recoil energy in the same pistol. Speer Lawman 125 matches it at the muzzle too and follows the same path downrange, with the same 7.2-inch drop at 100 yards; the only difference there is its fully enclosed TMJ bullet. Fiocchi Range Dynamics 124 is the one load that varies, and barely: a bullet 1 grain lighter gives it 4 ft-lbs less at the muzzle and 1.4 points less power factor, with a 50-yard drop 0.1 inch greater. None of these gaps will show up on a target.
Buy it as range ball or as major-power practice for USPSA. It is also the practice partner for Federal HST 125: the HST leaves 10 fps faster, drops the same 7.2 inches at 100 yards and has about 1 percent more recoil energy in the same pistol, so time spent with American Eagle carries over to the HST. Anyone who carries a hollow point should buy the HST for the gun and this load for the range.
- Keeps 403 ft-lbs at 50 yards, 5 more than Fiocchi Range Dynamics 124
- Muzzle figures identical to Winchester USA 125 and Remington UMC 125, so any of the three can stand in for another
- Carries 333 ft-lbs at 100 yards, 2 more than Speer Lawman 125
- Standard FMJ, where Speer Lawman 125 has a fully enclosed bullet with no exposed lead
- A 125-grain bullet needs 1,320 fps to make major, so a pistol that clocks this load 30 fps slow scores minor
- About 1 percent more recoil energy than Fiocchi Range Dynamics 124 in the same pistol
