About This Suppressor

The SureFire SOCOM338-Ti is a titanium-alloy rifle suppressor for .338 rifles. It has an MSRP of $2,499, the highest on this list. It is 9.9 inches long and 2 inches in diameter, the widest rifle suppressor here.

It mounts with SureFire's Fast-Attach system onto SureFire flash hiders, muzzle brakes and WARCOMPs, bought separately and fitted to the rifle first. A device left on each rifle lets the can move between them without tools. The finish is DLC and Cerakote, in black or dark earth, and the body is titanium alloy throughout.

If you're cross-shopping, the YHM Bad Larry has an MSRP of $979.95 and is stainless and Cobalt 6 at 17 ounces and 7.375 inches. The Dead Air Nomax 33 has an MSRP of $1,299 and is titanium at 15.4 ounces with its adapter. Both of those have a lower MSRP. Of the three, the SOCOM338-Ti is the heaviest at 22 ounces.

Strengths & Limitations

Pros

  • A titanium-alloy body on a .338-calibre can.
  • Fast-Attach mounting shares muzzle devices with the rest of SureFire's suppressor line.

Cons

  • SureFire muzzle devices are separate purchases, so the rifle needs one first.
  • Longer than every other rifle suppressor on this list except the Q Long Chop.
