About This Suppressor
The Dead Air Primal is a stainless steel multi-calibre suppressor for big-bore rifles. It has an MSRP of $899. Its .458 bore and 5,100 ft-lb rating take cartridges up to the energy of .338 Lapua Magnum, with no barrel-length restriction.
The rear threads are the industry-standard 1.375-24 HUB pattern, so it takes direct thread, Xeno, KeyMo and Xemax mounts. A 5/8-24 direct thread HUB mount, a HUB to P-Series adapter and a tool pack come in the box, and that adapter opens it up to 3-lug and booster mounts. Any other HUB mount is a separate purchase.
If you're cross-shopping, the SilencerCo Hybrid 46M has an MSRP of $1,169, is modular at 7.72 and 5.78 inches, and is rated to .45-70 Government. The Rugged Alaskan360Ti has an MSRP of $1,826 and is all titanium at 6.6 ounces, but its bullet ceiling is .360 inch, so the .458 bore cartridges are out of its range. Of the three, the Primal asks the least money for the big bore.
