About This Suppressor
The Q Long Chop is a stainless steel rifle suppressor for 8.6 Blackout rifles. It is 10.25 inches long and 21 ounces, in a Melonite finish. Q lists it as full-auto rated with no barrel-length restriction.
It mounts on Q's QUICKIE fast-attach system, so a Cherry Bomb or Rear End muzzle device goes on the rifle first and is bought separately. One device per host is the pattern, so a second rifle needs its own, and the device stays on the rifle when the can comes off. Nothing else has to be added to the can itself.
If you're cross-shopping, the SureFire SOCOM338-Ti has an MSRP of $2,499, is titanium at 22 ounces, and mounts on SureFire's Fast-Attach devices. The YHM Bad Larry has an MSRP of $979.95, is 7.375 inches, and takes a HUB mount or YHM's own quick-detach systems. Of the three, the Long Chop is the longest, and the only one of them built for a single cartridge.
Strengths & Limitations
Pros
- Full-auto rated and free of barrel-length limits, so a short 8.6 Blackout host is inside it.
- QUICKIE fast-attach, so the can comes off the rifle without tools.
Cons
- The longest rifle suppressor on this list, so it adds a lot to an already long rifle.
- Mounting needs a Q muzzle device, so each host costs extra.
