Fiocchi markets this 40-grain load for target shooting and sells it in its Range Dynamics line. The bullet is a full metal jacket, a solid-nosed jacketed bullet and the usual choice for paper and plinking. It is rated at a G1 BC of .126 and leaves the muzzle at 1,910 fps, a fast start that also keeps its path flat: zeroed at 100 yards, it drops about 5 inches at 150.
Compared with Winchester's Super-X 40-grain FMJ, which starts at the same 1,910 fps, the Fiocchi holds its speed better and is 50 fps faster by 100 yards. At 150 yards, a steady 10 mph wind blowing across the range pushes the Fiocchi about 12 inches sideways and the Winchester about 13.
