CCI markets its Gamepoint for small game. The 40-grain bullet is a jacketed soft point, a jacketed hunting bullet with lead exposed at the nose. It is rated at a G1 BC of .133 and leaves the muzzle at 1,875 fps. Zeroed at 100 yards, it drops about 6 inches at 150.
Compared with Fiocchi's Field Dynamics 40-grain JSP, the Gamepoint starts 35 fps slower, and by 100 yards the two are nearly level. At 150 yards, a steady 10 mph wind blowing across the range pushes the Gamepoint about 11 inches sideways and the Fiocchi about 12. Compared with Remington's 40-grain pointed soft point, the Gamepoint pulls ahead with distance: at 100 yards it carries 170 ft-lbs to the Remington's 159, and the same wind pushes the Remington about 13 inches at 150.
