Product Overview
Prvi Partizan's 140-grain PSP is for shooters who want a plain pointed soft point, with no polymer tip and no bonded core. It is a jacketed lead-core bullet with lead showing at its pointed nose. It has a G1 BC of .390 and leaves the muzzle at 3,100 fps, with 1,785 ft-lbs still on hand at 300 yards.
Compared with Remington's Core-Lokt 140-grain PSP, another pointed soft point, the Prvi Partizan starts 75 fps slower and stays close behind it. Zeroed at 100 yards, it drops about 25 inches at 400 and the Core-Lokt about 23. At 400 yards a steady 10 mph wind blowing across the range pushes each of them about 13 inches sideways; that is how far from the aim point the bullet lands if you make no correction. The Core-Lokt kicks about 3 percent harder in the same rifle. Compared with the Sellier & Bellot 140-grain SP, the Prvi Partizan starts at nearly the same speed but holds its line far better: the same 400-yard wind pushes the S&B about 25 inches.
Buy the Prvi Partizan if you want a plain soft point with a path close to the Core-Lokt's. Pick the Core-Lokt 140-grain PSP if you want a little more speed; Remington markets it for big game. Pick the Sellier & Bellot only if your shots are close. If you want a copper bullet with no lead core, the Black Hills Gold 140-grain Barnes TSX starts at the same speed. HSM's Trophy Gold 180-grain Berger VLD drifts about 8 inches in the same 400-yard wind, but it kicks about 50 percent harder.
