Hornady Superformance 162-grain SST is a polymer-tipped 7mm Remington Magnum load made for medium and large game. A polymer tip sits on the nose of the SST's lead core. It leaves the muzzle at 3,030 fps with 3,302 ft-lbs and has a G1 BC of .550.
Zeroed at 100 yards, it drops 10.4 inches at 300 yards and 23.4 inches at 400 yards, where it still carries 2,023 ft-lbs. From a 200-yard zero the drop at 400 yards is 17.9 inches. It kicks harder than Federal's Vital-Shok 160-grain Trophy Bonded Tip.
