Product Overview
Nosler's Ballistic Tip 140-grain is a polymer-tipped 6.5 PRC load made for elk- and moose-sized game. The bullet has a lead core and a boat tail under Nosler's tip. It leaves the muzzle at 2,900 fps with 2,614 ft-lbs and has a G1 BC of .509.
From a 200-yard zero it drops 7.0 inches at 300 and 20.2 inches at 400, where 1,521 ft-lbs are left.
If you're cross-shopping, Hornady's Precision Hunter 143-grain ELD-X is 60 fps faster on a G1 BC of .625, and from a 200-yard zero it drops 18.2 inches at 400. Federal's Fusion 140-grain is the plain bonded soft point at the same weight and from that zero drops 20.8 inches at 400.
