The ELD Match is Hornady's polymer-tipped match bullet with a boat tail, and in this load it carries a G1 BC of .648. Hornady rates it at 1,020 fps from a 16-inch test barrel. That is below the speed of sound, so it can run through a suppressed rifle without a supersonic crack.

Sellier & Bellot's 200-grain Subsonic FMJ is the closest load in purpose, since its maker also markets it for range and match shooting. It starts 40 fps faster, at 1,060 fps. Zeroed at 100 yards, the ELD Match drops about 34 inches at 200 yards and the S&B about 32. A steady 10 mph wind blowing across the range pushes each of them about 4 inches sideways at that distance. Winchester's Super Suppressed 200-grain Open Tip also starts at 1,060 fps and drops about 33 inches at 200 yards, but the same wind pushes it about 5 inches.

Buy the ELD Match for subsonic paper and steel out to 200 yards if you want Hornady's match bullet and wind drift no worse than the S&B's. Pick the S&B if a faster start and slightly less drop at 200 yards matter more to you. Pick the Winchester if you want the load Winchester built for suppressed rifles. For practice at the same bullet weight, Hornady's Frontier 208-grain FMJ is a plain full metal jacket from the line Hornady sells for plinking and training, rated 5 fps faster from a longer test barrel. Pick Hornady's 190-grain Sub-X if you need an expanding bullet; Hornady markets it for personal defense.
