Barnes markets its VOR-TX 120-grain TTSX for big and medium game. The TTSX is Barnes's copper bullet with a polymer tip and no lead core, rated at a G1 BC of .412, and this load starts it at 2,950 fps with 2,319 ft-lbs of energy. At 300 yards it still carries 1,412 ft-lbs.
Compared with DoubleTap's 120-grain Barnes TTSX, which loads the same bullet, there is nothing to choose between the two at the muzzle: both leave at 2,950 fps and kick the same in the same rifle. Compared with Fort Scott Munitions' 123-grain TUI, a solid copper bullet, the VOR-TX gives up some speed. The Fort Scott load starts at 3,026 fps, 76 fps faster, with 182 ft-lbs more energy, and it kicks about 8 percent harder in the same rifle.
Buy the VOR-TX if you hunt big or medium game and want Barnes's own loading of its lead-free TTSX. The DoubleTap TTSX carries the same bullet at the same speed, so either one fills the same role. Pick the Fort Scott Munitions TUI if you want more muzzle speed and don't mind a little more recoil. If you also shoot steel and paper at distance, Hornady markets its 130-grain ELD Match as a target load, and it handles wind better: at 500 yards, a steady 10 mph wind blowing across the range pushes the ELD Match about 16 inches sideways and the TTSX about 22.
