Product Overview
Remington Premier 90-grain MatchKing is a match hollow point .224 Valkyrie load made for long-range and target shooting. Remington calls the bullet a MatchKing Open Tip Match, Sierra's boat-tailed target hollow point. It leaves the muzzle at 2,700 fps with 1,457 ft-lbs and a G1 BC of .563.
Zeroed at 200 yards, it drops 8.1 inches at 300 and 23.0 inches at 400. From a 100-yard zero it drops 30.8 inches at 400.
If you're cross-shopping, Federal's Premium 90-grain Sierra MatchKing is the same bullet at the same speed, so the two follow one path. Hornady's BLACK 75-grain BTHP starts 300 fps faster, drops 20.4 inches at 400 from a 200-yard zero and kicks about 22 percent less in the same rifle.
- Ties Federal's Premium 90-grain Sierra MatchKing for the highest G1 BC in the caliber
- Still moving at 2,099 fps at 400 yards
- Drops 0.7 inches less at 400 yards than Hornady's Match 88-grain ELD from a 200-yard zero
- Ties Federal's Premium 90-grain Sierra MatchKing for the hardest recoil in the caliber
- Federal's Gold Medal 80.5-grain Berger OTM and Hornady's BLACK 75-grain BTHP both start faster
- A target hollow point, with nothing in it meant for game
