PMC pitches its Bronze line at target shooters and hunters, from competition down to casual shooting at paper. This load carries a 55-grain full metal jacket boat tail bullet, a jacketed bullet with a tapered base, rated at a G1 BC of .243, and leaves the muzzle at 3,200 fps. Zeroed at 100 yards, it drops about 57 inches at 500.
Compared with Hornady Frontier 55-grain, which shares the G1 BC of .243, the PMC starts 40 fps slower and flies almost the same path. At 500 yards, a steady 10 mph wind blowing across the range pushes each of them about 38 inches sideways. Compared with Federal American Eagle 55-grain, rated at a G1 BC of .269, the PMC gives up more: the same wind pushes the American Eagle about 33 inches at 500 yards, and from the same zero it drops about 51 inches. The PMC kicks about the same as either one in the same rifle.
Buy PMC Bronze for paper and steel out to 300 yards, where it drops within about an inch of both the American Eagle and the Frontier.
