MDT began selling its JAE-G5 chassis for the Remington 700 right-hand long action CIP on October 20, the company said in its release.
MDT’s JAE-G5 is a competition chassis that pairs the profile of a traditional rifle stock with the rigidity and adjustment of an aluminum chassis. The long action CIP version has an MSRP of $1,499.99 on MDT’s product page. Its Remington 700 short action sibling lists at $1,399.99.
It takes 3.850-inch long action magazines. MDT’s compatibility list for it names the Bergara B14, Bergara Premier, Weatherby Model 307 and most Remington 700 long action clones.
Adjustments cover length of pull, cheek height, magazine latch height and a barricade stop, the block that braces the forend against a prop. Vertical and angled grips ship with the chassis. Its M-LOK forend, a slotted pattern that accessories bolt into, carries a bolt-on adjustable barricade stop. It also accepts a bolt-on ARCA rail, the dovetail rail bipods and tripods clamp to, and JAE internal forend weights. A rubber gasket between the stock panels and the aluminum core damps vibration, and MDT says you drop the action in and tighten two screws.
MDT’s page publishes one specification block for the JAE-G5 and does not break it out by action. That block also lists magazine compatibility as AICS.
