Key Facts

  • Silent Steel announced the Baffle Streamer Gen 2 family on September 23, 2026, with four configurations.
  • The Gen 2 Baffle Module is 3D printed in aluminium or Inconel 718. The XStreamer OTB comes only in aluminium.
  • The full-size Baffle Streamer Gen 2 is 195mm long and weighs 240g in aluminium or 535g in stainless steel or Inconel.
  • Gen 2 modules fit corresponding previous-generation Silent Steel bodies, and the serialized body stays unchanged in an upgrade.
  • Calibers run from 5.56mm to 9.30mm. The aluminium suppressor is not rated for magnum calibers.

Silent Steel introduced the Baffle Streamer Gen 2 suppressor family on September 23, built around a 3D-printed baffle module in aluminium or Inconel 718.

The Baffle Streamer is Silent Steel’s baffle suppressor, and the maker says in its release that the Gen 2 module is completely redesigned. Printing lets the maker cut internal geometries that conventional manufacturing cannot, and Silent Steel says that improves sound and flash suppression. Every model also has the new Silent Steel Flash-Guard, built into the front of the suppressor to minimize visible muzzle flash, including on short-barreled platforms.

The module comes in two materials. Aluminium is the light one, aimed at hunters and sporting shooters. The Inconel 718 version is aimed at law enforcement, military and professional use, where heat resistance and durability matter. Silent Steel recommends stainless steel or Inconel for high-volume shooting.

The Baffle Streamer Gen 2 is the full-size model. A shorter, lighter Compact Baffle Streamer Gen 2 uses the same technology. Silent Steel’s Streamer OTB Gen 2 pairs the standard Streamer body with a Compact module, and part of the suppressor extends rearward over the barrel (OTB, over-the-barrel). That cuts added weapon length and moves mass closer to the shooter.

The XStreamer OTB Gen 2 is new. It is the longest model in the family, uses a full-size module and is offered only with the aluminium module.

The product page gives these figures for the full-size model.

Measurement Aluminium Stainless steel / Inconel
Length 195mm 195mm

The QDB Boltlok adds 20g. Steel bodies come in Cerakote in Magpul FDE, Magpul OD Green or Armor Black, and aluminium bodies are black anodized. A front cap wrench for disassembly ships with the suppressor.

Calibers are 5.56mm, 6.00mm, 6.5mm, 7.00mm, 7.62mm, 8.60mm and 9.30mm. The aluminium suppressor is not rated for magnum calibers, and Silent Steel did not say which body produced the two magnum readings below. It lists measured sound pressure at 1m left of the barrel for five rifles.

  • TC Contender, .223 Remington, 16-inch barrel, -35dB
  • Remington 700, .308 Winchester, 24-inch barrel, -31dB
  • Tikka T3, 6.5 Creedmoor, 20-inch barrel, -34dB
  • Sako TRG M10, .338 Lapua Magnum, 24-inch barrel, -25dB
  • Remington 700, 7mm Remington Magnum, 24-inch barrel, -31dB

Existing owners can upgrade. The Gen 2 modules fit corresponding previous-generation Silent Steel bodies, so swapping the internal module brings an older suppressor to Gen 2. The serial number is marked on the body, so the serialized part stays the same. All Gen 2 models can be fully disassembled for inspection and cleaning.

Silent Steel did not publish a price. Its products are sold through retailers.
