About This Firearm
The Shadow Systems DR920 Elite is a full-size striker-fired 9mm built for duty use. It is in current production, and it is designed to run on existing Glock 17 holsters, magazines and gear, so the support parts for it are already on dealer shelves. Its 4.5-inch match-grade barrel sits under a slide cut at the factory for a red dot, and the major pistol red dots bolt into that cut directly with no adapter plate underneath.
Two 17-round magazines ship with it, and a green-outline tritium front sight is fitted. The grip angle changes with interchangeable backstraps, and the extended beavertail and the undercut behind the trigger guard let the hand sit high on the frame. The flat-faced aluminum trigger breaks at 4.5 lbs. The muzzle on this build is plain, so a compensator or a suppressor means buying the threaded version of the same pistol instead.
If you're cross-shopping, the Glock G17 Gen5 MOS holds the same 17 rounds on a longer 4.49-inch barrel at 7.95 inches overall, and it is the pistol whose magazines and holsters the DR920 was built around. The Shadow Systems MR920 Elite is the compact of the same line, with a 4.0-inch barrel, 15 rounds and 7.125 inches overall against the DR920's 7.75, and it runs Glock 19 magazines, so the two do not share spares.

Strengths & Limitations
- The barrel is match grade with conventional rifling, which Shadow Systems cuts flutes into.
- The slide is 17-4 stainless steel under a black nitride finish.
- A zippered pistol rug ships with the gun, so there is something to carry it in from the first range trip.
- Red dots bolt straight to the slide, so a sight whose footprint does not match the cut cannot be adapted with a plate.
- Two magazines come with it, and a third and fourth for a duty rotation are an added purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the DR920P?

Will Glock 17 holsters fit it?

Can I get it with a threaded barrel?
Yes. Threaded-barrel DR920 Elite versions are sold alongside this one.
