The Shadow Systems DR920 Elite is a full-size 9mm built to Glock 17 dimensions with a factory optic cut, a fluted match-grade barrel and a flat aluminum trigger. The choice is between a finished, optic-ready G17 alternative and a stock duty gun you upgrade yourself. It carries 17 rounds on a 4.5-inch barrel.

Shadow Systems says the DR920 is designed to work with existing G17 holsters, magazines and gear, and its patented MIPS optic mount takes most red dots with no plates. The frame has interchangeable backstraps for grip angle, an extended beavertail and an undercut trigger guard. The Glock G17 Gen5 MOS lists a 5.8 lb trigger against a DR920 break that Shadow Systems rates from 4.5 lb. The Springfield Armory Echelon is also optic-ready and ships with an extended magazine alongside the flush one. The Shadow Systems MR920 Elite is the G19-size sibling, with a 4.0-inch barrel and two fewer rounds.

Buy the DR920 Elite if you shoot a full-size gun in matches or classes, want Glock holster and magazine support, and would rather not send a slide out for optic milling. Skip it if a stock optic-ready duty gun is all you need; the Glock G17 Gen5 MOS or the Springfield Echelon covers that.
