Federal Champion 200-grain LSWCHP is a lead semi-wadcutter hollow point .44 Special load made for target shooting. Federal calls the bullet a semi-wadcutter hollow point, unjacketed lead with a hollow nose and a flat shoulder. It leaves the muzzle at 870 fps with 336 ft-lbs.
From a 25-yard zero it is 2.5 inches low at 50. Its estimated recoil of 7.6 ft-lbs in the same revolver is a shade over PMC Bronze 180-grain and about 20 percent under DoubleTap 200-grain TAC-XP.
If you're cross-shopping, Fiocchi 200-grain SJHP has a jacket over the shank of the same bullet weight and starts 30 fps faster with 24 ft-lbs more. CCI Blazer 200-grain JHP is faster still at 920 fps with 376 ft-lbs.
